A Warm Weather Retreat in Brooklyn

Now that spring is here and summer is right around the corner, it is time to map out all of your weekend activities. Trying to escape the city for a day and take a trip to Brooklyn? Brooklyn is the most populated of the five New York City boroughs, but sometimes it seems like a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.  Whether you live in Brooklyn or are just visiting for the day, we have the best warm weather activities for you!

Smorgasburg is Brooklyn’s popular Flea Food Market. The outdoor market is open every weekend from April to November from 11am to 6pm. On Saturdays it is in Williamsburg, and on Sundays it is located on the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Definitely bring your appetite with you to Smorgasburg since the food creations offered here will literally blow your taste buds. Some of the popular items are the Law Newyorkina Mexican frozen treats, Ramen Burgers, and The Good Batch ice cream. The market is open rain or shine and is the perfect occasion for food, friends, and outdoor fun.

Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic landmark in New York City and also one of the oldest bridges in the US. On a nice day there is nothing better than a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge whether you are heading over to Manhattan or just going on a walk back to Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Bridge has been featured in several movies and is popularly known for Miranda and Steve’s reunion in Sex and the City movie!

McCarren Hotel & Pool

The McCarren Hotel, which is a Chelsea Hotel owned by Ed Scheetz, has one of the largest outdoor swimming pools in the Big Apple. Keyword here is “outdoor,” there is nothing like a dip in an outdoor swimming pool on a warm summer day. The outdoor deck space surrounding the pool is swanky and has plenty of seating options and places to tan or read a book. Tired of swimming? The Sheltering Sky, which is McCarren Hotel’s rooftop lounge, has a view of McCarren Park, food, cocktails and a DJ.
